Our Changing Environment

Our Changing Environment is an ongoing aerial documentary project that explores how Northeast Florida’s landscapes are evolving. Through drone photography, it records the intersection of nature, industry, infrastructure, and urban growth, creating a visual archive of places that are continually being reshaped by both natural processes and human activity.

The project began as a 45-day photographic workshop and challenge organized by Amazing Aerials, bringing together approximately 150 drone pilots from around the world. As an aerial photographer and contributor to Amazing Aerials, I chose to focus on a theme that extends beyond creating compelling images. Rather than documenting scenic locations alone, I set out to capture landscapes undergoing visible transformation—places where development, transportation, energy production, manufacturing, and environmental change intersect.

What started as a challenge has grown into a long-term documentary effort. The goal is not to advocate for or against development, but to preserve an objective visual history that allows viewers to observe these changes from a unique perspective and draw their own conclusions.
